I think that this is a Miami thing? Spanish and English has sort of merged and instead of using the “correct” Spanish word for bumper sticker we decided that almost no one here would relate to it, so instead we used “Bumper Sticker”. On Sunday, I was a man on a mission, the question was “what is the correct Spanish word for bumper sticker?”. This is what’s funny, I asked everyone, including the older folks and no one knew, this includes people that predominately speak Spanish, and for some of them Spanish is their only language. I am sure that you by now might wonder what the right word is, as far as I am told it should be “calcomanía” (If this is wrong, blame Gustavo….)
If anyone out there has a better word, leave a comment. Anyways, let’s start a chain reaction…….. Put on the Bumper Stickers….

“Calcomanía” is the correct word for decal, which is what a bumper sticker is. I looked it up on wordreference.com. What I also learned in my research is that “decal” is a shortened word for “decalcomania.” So, yes, Gustavo is 100% correct.
P.S.: The translation that I found for sneakers is “zapatilla de deporte.”
