It is amazing to know that our church here in Miami already has a world wide impact. When we started Vision Church we knew that God had called us to be one church that preached hope, one church with 2 languages and one church with many locations. In a nutshell, that equals one word “MISSIONS”.
Our pastor in the Dominican Republic, Cesar Jimenez just returned from Guayaquil, Equador where he ministered to 5,000 people in a crusade at a sports stadium. He also ministered to many pastors and churches. God is opening a huge door for us in the nation of Ecuador and we are currently praying and planning for a trip in February. All I can say is “we are amazed at what God is doing”.
Well he is finally here…. baby Joshua was born yesterday weighing in at 9 Lbs 3 oz and 20.5 inches long. We are so blessed to have Johnny and Daiana as our worship leaders at Vision Church and we wish them the very best. Let’s see if Joshua grows up to become a great soccer player…..
Segadores de Vida (Harvesters of Life) located in Hollywood FL was just announced as the fastest growing church in the US by Outreach magazine . You san see the entire list of the 100 fastest growing us churches here. Living in South Florida it makes me really glad to hear the good news. Pastor Ruddy and Maria Garcia is doing it in a big way, having growth by over 3,000 people in one year is awesome.
Here is the bumper for the “Six Questions” series that we are starting this Sunday. If you attend Vision Church it’s time to find the book of Joshua and start to read as we are going to embark on a journey through that book.
Will the Miami Dolphins win a game this season? The truth is no one knows the answer to that question. Through the next six weeks we are going to tackle some tough questions that we do have the answers to. We are gearing up for the
series “Six Questions“.
October 21st Does God hold my past against me?
October 28th Why should I trust God?
November 4th Will I get burnt if I play with fire?
November 11th What would I change if I had a second chance?
November 18th Will people remember me when I die?
November 25th Where should I draw the line?
Don’t worry, I am not writing this post from our vacation. In fact I am actually writing this October 1st and have set it to post today automatically.
Tonight my son asked my wife “are there any computers in Orlando?” as she was putting him to bed. As she told him “no we will not have a computer when we are away on vacation” he enthusiastically exclaimed “great”.
Point of thought, perhaps we should get away from what we prioritize and instead prioritize what is really more important. Turn off the TV for awhile, have a family night, go out of that house and have some fun and create moments and memories that will last a lifetime.
Let’s be real, I am sure that a few of you who are reading this might have done it. After all, most of us have had a bad restaurant experience and perhaps you did not totally “stiff”the waiter, but how much tip did you leave on that table?
This Sunday we are starting a series that we call “Finances 101.” We are going to take an in-depth and very practical look at what the Bible has to say about finances. How do you make a budget? What is a Biblical way of “prosperity”? How can I have a few hundred dollars extra a month? If you are interested, these are 2 weeks that you don’t want to miss.
Here are some interesting facts about where we are at as a society today:
75 % of Americans live pay check to pay check 95 % of married couples fight about finances The number one cause of divorce is financially related The average 28 year old has over $66,000 in debt Last year, the average American spent $1.22 for every $1 earned
|62% of Americans will retire with less than $10.000 income per year
Scripture says that laughter is good medicine, so, based on popular demand, we put the blooper video on YouTube. I guess that we never should take ourselves too seriously. Let’s elevate God and nothing else!
I was walking with my son the other day and all of a sudden he exclaimed enthusiastically “Fall is Here”. I look at him and saw him holding to brownish yellow leaf. What makes all of this quite interesting is, we live in Miami, Florida where summer is really the only season all year round.
To him, seeing a few leaves meant change; it meant fall. To me, all I saw was two brownish yellow leaves. Life is all about what perspective you have. If a person has bad eye sight, he or she goes to the eye doctor to correct their vision by adding a pair of glasses or contact lenses. For some people all they see is negativity and there is almost never anything that seems good in their lives.
What is your perspective? A God that can do anything. The beginning of a season of increase in your life. The fact that even the negative things that you are facing are only temporary, and that God can make a way even when there seems to be no way.
Attitude determines altitude. The road to the next level is always uphill. God has a perfect plan for imperfect people. These are all quotes that we have in our weekly bulletin at Vision Church and I really believe that all of them have a lot to do with what perspective we have.
