This Sunday we are going to dig into the 2nd message in our series “Mythbusters” and I am going to show you a clip where Oprah reasons about religion, etc. This will be an extremely interesting message, especially since we are going to talk about what sets us apart as Christians. This is definitely a message that needs to be preached and I know that we will have tons of fun.

Why show a video like this? Do you realize that we often act just like “Boy Shakira”! No, I don’t think that most of you out there actually put on a dress and make up at home behind closed doors. No, we sometimes put on a show, dress the part, talk the talk, wear a suit, have a cross around our neck, perhaps pray before we eat (at least if we are out in public). What am I saying? We know how to “dress ourselves”, we “play a part” we know how to act christian, but that is just something that we DO it is not who we ARE. Think about it and ask yourself “what does it mean to BE a christian”?
Think about what Jesus told the religious people of the time in Matthew 23:25. Jesus is basically saying I can see through the dress and the makeup. He is practically saying that they were “playing dress up”. The religious people, the Pharisees were “pulling a boy shakira” and Jesus called their bluff.
There are many people out there that pray, believe, give, attend a worship gathering, etc. way more than you do. They might call themselves Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus or something else, but the fact is that they give, pray, believe. So, what sets you apart as a follower of Jesus Christ? Remember to be a Christian is not something that we do, it is something that we are.
We just added another Dell 2400 MP projector and all I can say is “Dell Rocks”. Their customer service is 2nd to none and everything that we have ordered from them has been shipped to us faster than any other company that we have dealt with.

We also added 2 new 84″ 16:9 pull up screens from these guys and their prices on pull-up screens are unbeatable. Our setup time for both new screens are just about 1 minute compared to 10 minutes for the 150″ portable da-lite screen that we previously used.
There is a rumor that Shakira will be at Vision Church this Sunday. Personally, I can’t deny or confirm the report. All I can say is “be there this Sunday @ 10:00 AM”
