Here is the link to the chronological bible reading plan that I mentioned yesterday in church. I got it from Michael Lukasewski who pastors Oak Leaf Church.
Yesterday I preach a message that we called “Wonder Bread” where I talked about the fact that Jesus called himself the “bread of life“ In john chapter one we find out that Jesus is the word that became flesh. All of us have that word, the Bible available to eat off daily, the problem is that there are so many people that are on a starvation diet. Think about it, how many bibles do you own? Today, we can have the bible on mp3, computer, the web, cell phone, pda etc. there are really no excuses.

- Do you consider yourself rich?
- Are you happy with your salary?
- Do you complain that you need more money?
- Go to www.globalrichlist.com and enter in your annual salary and see where you rank.
- It is amazing to know that if you just make $2,200 /yr. you are in the top 15% in the world.
- If you bring in over $48,000 /yr. you are in the top 1%
- Check out worldometers. This website is amazing, did you know that as I write this there are 887,788,635 people in the world that are malnourished. I have had more than enough to eat today and most likely I will still eat later on. “I am rich”
- It makes me think about Phillipians 4:12-13 . Thankfulness and a reliance on God is pivotal.

Have you ever considered that you might look too far ahead? No, don’t get me wrong I am all in favor of planning and scheduling. What I ask is this “could it be possible that you are missing what’s right at your feet?” I believe that all too often I miss out on opportunities by not looking at what’s right in front of me.
Consider this:
- The Bible says “Your word is a lamp to my FEET and a light for my path” Psalm 119:105
- To see what’s at your feet you might have to slow down your pace and look down.
- It does not say that God will show you everything in your future.
- It does imply that God’s word will and can illuminate your current circumstances.
- The disciples time after time did not fully grasp who Jesus was and what He could do. Look at these examples John 4:27-34, 6:33-36, 11:11-16. Over and over Jesus has to explain his nature and who He is and what he can do. Remember that Jesus was right with them.
- It is easy to miss out on what’s right in front of us, especially when our expectations do not line up with God’s intentions.
- Business and focus on problems can easily make us miss out on solutions that are right on our door step. Case in point, I remember praying for God to send us a drummer when all along He had a person in our Church.
- There is no substitution for daily time reading the Bible. If you need direction read the Book, it will bring light to your path and it will become a lamp to your feet.
- BIBLE (Basic, Instruction, Before, Leaving, Earth)

Think about it, how often do you think that you look at a circumstance and you view it as a disadvantage? How often do we say things like:
- I guess I can’t do it because…..
- If I only had….
- I need more training….
- When I get to this point I can do it..
- If I had money….
Learn to take what could be a disadvantage and make it your advantage. This Sunday, we are not going to have a drummer and our main sound guy. You may think that it is a great disadvantage as I did at first. But, I realized that it really is an advatage, because it actually forced me to think outside of the Box.
It is so easy to just go with the flow, to do things just because we know how to or because we have the ability to do so. Think about it, what is something in your life or ministry that you might view as a disadvantage, but you should really view it as an advantage?
This Sundays’, worship is going to be awesome, intimate and very special as we do communion together.

I can remember not having a video screen at church, not enough money to buy a snake, so we had our sound board on the stage, not enough money to pay any salary at all, etc. I can remember one Sunday, about 2 years ago, when I wanted to show a video and I actually had to bring a 27″ TV from my house.
Today we have a snake, camera, 2 screens, cables, live broadcast to the nursery, etc. Vision Church has and is a dream that is coming together piece by piece. Today, I got one in-ear monitor for Johnny and I am excited for what this one piece of the puzzle will do for our sound. There are still so many pieces of the puzzle that needs to come together, but I know one thing. Phillipians 1:6 says “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ”.
