Focus on God!

So far I have read 50 chapters of the Bible in 4 days as we are going through the Bible in 90 days.

Here are some thoughts about Joseph:

The pit is not your potential – Don’t get used to it.
When your down – God is usually up to something
Dreams never die – Dreamers do

Ephesians 2:10 says this: For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

I love that phrase: in advance. What an awesome thought. God is already in your future. He is setting you up. He is preparing the way.

This was Josephs outlook on life:

Genesis 45:5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.

Genesis 45:8 “So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.

Remember, God has a specific plan for your life. Don’t focus on the pit or the prison. FOCUS ON GOD!

  1. Joseph is the perfect example of God’s purpose. The only way God could have made his purpose for his life more obvious was to actually pick him up and put him in his position of authority in Egypt. God knew long before he was sold by his brothers that Egypt would be the land that saved Jacob and his family from famine. God just made the plot even better by showing what Joseph’s faith in God’s will can do if we just focus on God.
