As a Pastor I often get asked about relationship, dating and marriage.  When should I get married?  How do I know if I have met the right person?  How far is too far when it comes to intimacy in a dating relationship?

Basically here is some thoughts about the subject!

1. Don’t Compromise

Singles: Don’t compromise. Date not out of compromise but out of conviction! Maybe your compromise made you compromise……… When you compromise God is not in it!

If you have drama now in your relationship now – Marriage is not going to fix it!

2. Seek God desperately

Don’t be focused on the frustration of being single. See the BLESSING that is there!

Don’t focus one meeting Mr. or Mrs. Right: BECOME Mr. or Mrs. RIGHT….

If you are discontent as a single person – you’ll be twice as miserable as a married person

If you are content as a single person – you’ll be twice as happy as a married person.

You might have heard the statement that “Love is Blind”.  It always amazes me when I hear “I never knew that about him, if I had known that I am not sure that I would have gotten married”.  Let me tell you something “THAT, whatever that is, was there all the time….. you just didn’t see that”.

Slow down and Seek GOD!   Do what it says in Matthew 6:33 Seek Him first!

Yes, I know… that’s a CRAZY IDEA.  Instead of having a “Holy Huddle” let’s think outside the box and instead do something… let’s put on this event on a Sunday when most Christians are attend THEIR CHURCHES and let’s reach those who normally never attend Church.  You know that Churches normally gets a bad wrap and people say that all ‘they’ want is money….. it is true that we need money to operate and do what God has called us to do but I think it’s time that the Church also gave back to our Community.

I have been told “you are crazy, do you realize that you are spending thousands of dollars and at the same time you will not get any income that week since you’re not having Church?”  Basically this is my response to that: “I truly believe that as you GIVE you GET“.  I loose no sleep wondering about the Finances because I know that IF IT’S GOD’s WILL it is GOD’s BILL!  He is my Provider, He is my Peace, yes HE IS MY EVERYTHING!

I wonder if people called Noah crazy when he started building on that ark and there was no rain?

I wonder if people called Abraham crazy when he told people that Sarah was pregnant?

I wonder have many times Moses was called Crazy just because he had heard from God?

I wonder what people said as David was approaching the giant Goliath?

I wonder what people said when Joseph said that Mary was pregnant by the Holy Spirit?

When you dream BIG DREAMS!    When you PRAY BIG PRAYERS!  When you STEP OUT IN FAITH…. You are honoring God because you are now relying on Him and not yourself!

My simple question to you today is this: “Has somebody told you that you’re crazy lately?”

When I fall – He picks me up & heals my wounds

When I fear – He provides Faith

When I doubt, question & second guess -He allows my humanness because He can understand it!

When I feel broken & unworthy – He shows me His cross & reminds me of the high cost He paid for me!

When I am caught up in the storms of life – He is right there by my side!
He is always there!  He is never far away!  He is there even though I fail to recognize Him!  He has always been there and will always be!   He is the beginning and at the same time the end!  He is the answer, hope & solution for all my questions, problems & all my faults!

His name is JESUS!!!

Do you need a breakthrough on something? Do you feel spiritually dry? Do you want to grow deeper with God this year? Don’t just pray to God…but participate with God as He moves! Develop the PUSH attitude “pray until something happens’ during this 21 days of fasting. Don’t stop praying until you get your breakthrough!

God did not just call us to PRAY about HIS will, but also to PARTICIPATE in it. Often Christians are willing to pray about some things and think that they’ve done their part…and then they get angry at God because He did not do something in the time frame they were expecting it to take place.

It’s time that we kick it into ‘high’ gear and break out one of God’s Weapons of Mass Destruction, “FASTING”! Prayer & Fasting is an essential, necessary, commanded and extremely powerful weapon which we should make more use of in the church. Let this be the year that we don’t just pray big prayers…but we take bold steps and believe that as we pray and participate we will see God do amazing things!

Remember these three things; Fasting is: Focused attention, Substitution, and Sacrifice!

You must forget your past hurts, offenses, and failures in order to move into your destiny. You must ‘cut the rope’ from our past failures.

You must also forget your past successes as well to move into your destiny. It’s not that you forget the good things. It’s that you don’t stay stuck in the past of what God did. You must move into what GOD IS DOING.

We don’t like to leave our comfort zone because…it’s comfortable in the zone. But if you want to reach your full potential in life, you have to be willing to leave your comfort zone. If you want something you never had, you’ll have to be willing to do something you’ve never done.

We want God to move, but we don’t want to change. We want everyone else to change. We want everything around us to change. But we don’t want change to begin with me. Change Begins with ME!

 In Mark 4:35-41 we can learn some powerful lessons.

Jesus spoke to them to leave the shore and set sail in the evening. That was not the time to sail. People sail in the daylight. But often Jesus commands us to step out in faith during what we think is the inappropriate time.

Jesus and his disciples got in the boat, cut the rope that tied it to the shore, and started out for the other side. They began their journey to the other side because Jesus told them to go. When they went, they encountered a fierce storm.

So just because God tells you to go, doesn’t mean the journey will be easy.

Every time heaven sends a memo that He is going to promote you, the devil sends an attack that will oppose you. Often a sign that you are on the right track is that you are being opposed on your journey.

In fact, with every blessings and promotion–comes a new enemy (spiritually). We wish for a midget enemy not for a Goliath. But in reality, the size of your promotion is often preceded by the size of your enemy.

If you have a HUGE obstacle in your way, you may just have a HUGE breakthrough on the horizon as well.

Now….. Just because God allows the storm, does not mean that you are not in the center of His Will. The same God who allows the storm, speaks to the storm and commands it to ‘BE STILL’. When the disciples encountered the storm, Jesus made sure that they arrived at the other side.

Never forget that HE is WITH YOU! 

Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

God RAISED US UP & WE ARE…. This is Not Past tense……  God wants you to live your life with a “2 MILE ATTITUDE” because this is the essence of Christianity!

Matthew 5:41 says “If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles”

This is the ESSENCE of Christianity! 

WATCH THIS!  By going the 2^nd mile you will REVERSE who’s controlling the situation!

 When you take a step of FAITH, rise above, go beyond …..Something happens:

#1:  Gives the opportunity for Miracles!

#2: Let people see something special about you!

#3:  Releases Blessings!

It’s time to go BEYOND!  It’s time to go ABOVE! Many people are standing on the threshold and look in towards their blessings but, they never enter in.

The Essence of Christianity is found in the “2 Mile Attitude” This is also the key to unlock many blessings and miracles in your life!
